Another
investigation of the driven harmonic oscillator, showing the measured
oscillator amplitude as a function of drive frequency, on a log-log
plot. These data were taken by computer using LabVIEW to control
the signal generator frequency and to measure the oscillation amplitude
(using the MMHO photodiode signal). The inset shows the same data
near resonance on a linear-linear plot. The Lorentzian
approximation is no longer adequate over this extended frequency range,
so the fit function is the full theoretical response for a Simple
Harmonic Oscillator. The same fit function is shown in both
graphs.
