A bird's eye view of the EIT chassis with the Single Particl Trap installed. A microscope objective (not seen here) is built into the Single Particle Trap.  Light from this objective is reflected 90 degrees by a prism (behind the trap), and an image is projected onto the camera sensor.

Switching between the two optical configurations (one for the Ring Trap and Linear Trap, the other for the Single Particle Trap) is quite simple and takes about five minutes.
